Although a relatively modern faith, the devotion and spirituality of the Sikh’s is as deeply rooted as any other religion in India. Sikhism is a peaceful faith with a growing following in the West. It’s not, however, a missionary faith, and remains firmly rooted in the Indian State of Punjab. On this journey of discovery visit some of the most famous takhts (shrines and seats of authority) and numerous Gurudwaras of astonishing beauty. Unite with the devotees in their daily prayer and learn about the tenets of this amazing faith. Finally join with Hindus on the banks of the Holy River Ganges and gaze upon the Taj Mahal — the eternal symbol to love.

Day 01

Departure from your home country
Depart from your home country for Delhi.
Day 02

Delhi
Morning arrival. Afternoon tour of New Delhi including Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate and the Qutub Minar.
Day 03

Gurdwaras and Old Delhi excursion
Morning visit to the Delhi Gurdwaras including the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib near Connaught Place, and the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, built to commemorate the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur, in Chandni Chowk market area. Spend time exploring the market and then visit the Red Fort and Jama Masjid.
Day 04

To Chandigarh
Morning Shatabdi train in 1st AC (0740-1035 hrs) to Chandigarh followed by city tour of Le Corbusier’s fame.
Day 05

To Anandpur via Ropar and Fatehgarh
Morning drive to Anandpur via the shrine of Fategarh and Ropar.
Day 06

To Amritsar
Morning visit Anandpur, The Holy City of Bliss (second only to Amritsar in importance), where the tenth Guru, Gobind Singh, instituted the Khalsa in 1699. Spend the day exploring and learning about this great faith. Drive to the Holy city of Amritsar.
Day 07

Full day Golden Temple Tour
All day visit to the Golden Temple, the central shrine of Sikhism, and one of India’s most fabulous monuments. Visitors are truly welcome to take part in the devotions and to immerse themselves in the history and culture of Sikhism.
Day 08

Full day excursion to Tarn Taran and Goindwal
All day visit to the nearby shrines of Tarn Taran and Goindwal to see the many historical Gurudwaras. Goindwal was the first Sikh pilgrimage centre.
Day 09

To Patna via Delhi
Early morning train Shatabdi in 1st AC (0515-1115 hrs) to Delhi. Arrive and transfer to domestic airport to connect flight to Patna, the second seat of Sikh authority in the Eastern State of Bihar. Overnight in Patna.
Day 10

Visit the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh
Visit the birthplace of the final Guru, Gobind Singh, and the most important takht after Amritsar.
Day 11

To Varanasi
Morning visit to the interesting Patna museum. Afternoon train Shramjeevi Express in 1st AC (1050-1510 hrs) to Varanasi. Evening short tour of the major Temples.
Day 12

Moring boat tour. Afternoon train to Agra
Dawn boat ride on the Holy River Ganges. Transfer to Board Howrah Delhi Kalka Mail in 1st AC (0700-1645 hrs) to Agra.
Day 13

Agra sightseeing. Afternoon drive to Delhi
Morning tour of the charismatic Taj Mahal and the majestic Red Fort. Afternoon drive to Delhi.
Day 14

International Departure
Early morning transfer to airport for international departure.
