Day 1: Arrive Delhi o Kolkata
Upon your arrival, you will be met by DestinAsia Journeys representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Dibrugarh
In the morning departure for Dibrugarh, Upon arrival at Dibrugarh airport and you will be received and transferred to the hotel. Stay overnight at Dibrugarh.
Day 3: Dibrugarh – Mon
In the morning drive to Mon after checking into Nagaland boarder. On arrival, check in to Helsa Cottage. Overnight at Mon
Day 4: Mon
The day is to visit the tribal villages.
Day 5: Mon – Shangyu
Drive to Shangnyu village. This village is ruled by the Chief Angh is a prominent village in Mon district. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8ft in height & 12ft in breadth-believed to be constructed by heavenly angles. Human beings and other creatures are carved on this monument. After returning Shangnyu village visit Mon village, here also you will find tattooed Konyaks. Post lunch drive to Chui village situated about 8 km from the district headquarters of Mon. After lunch drive to the Langmeing to see head hunting trophies. On way back to Mon visit Chui village still retains its old world charm. One can see the Anghs mansion and other houses.
Day 6: Longwa Village
SCENIC BEAUTY gets redefined and the border lines get more defined on the way to Longwa village, located 42 kilometers from the main Mon town in Nagaland. For many decades, this Konyak village bordering Myanmar and Arunachal Pradesh has been the centre of attraction for many, as the international boundary line passes through the village in fact straight through the house of the village Angh (chief) apportioning the village between two countries. Longwa is quiet and the people, like any other Naga people, are hospitable. Life is traditional, rustic and beautiful; children happily wave at the visitors and hospitable seniors make the visitors feel at home. But more than this, what catches the attention of visitors is the international boundary line that runs between India and Myanmar and passes through the village. Overnight at Longwa.
Day 7: Longwa – Shangachunhu – Mon
One find Angh house the largest in whole Konyak area, you can meet the village elders and they explain how they celebrate festival, culture, lifestyle etc. Back to Mon. O/N Helsa cottage.
Day 8: Mon – Tuensang
Morning, drive to Tuensang (150 km/ 8 hrs), the homeland of Chang Naga. Overnight at Tuensang.
Day 9: Excursion to Noklak Village
Take a full day excursion to Noklak to see Khiamniungan tribe. In the afternoon return back to Tuensang.
Day 10: Drive to Mokokchung (208 km/8 hrs).
This picturesque town is the cultural centre of the Ao tribes. The Ao Nagas is famous for their colorful dances. Evening visit Ungma village, the biggest Ao village and looks like an adjunct of Mokokchung town. According to legend, the early Ao settled here first after coming from Chungliyimti. This village is many centuries old and can be of interest to people who have a desire to peep into Ao folk lories, customs and tradition. Overnight at Mokokchung.
Day 11: Mokokchung – Chare – Longsa – Mokokchung
Chare Sangtam tribal village, you find different tribal, their custom, lifestyle traditions etc. Have packed lunch on the way. Drive to Longsa Ao tribal village, The Ao tribes celebrate Tsengremong festival every from Longsa village. The village elders will explain how the village was formed after several attempts during head hunting days. Back to Mokokchung.
Day 12: Mokokchung – Aizuto village or Zunheboto town.
(En-route visit Longkhum village), A vanguard village of the Ao in the days of head hunting is strategically situated at an altitude of 1846m the people of this village are hard working and one can find exquisite handcraft and handloom items in this village.
Day 13: Aizuto Village/ Zunheboto
In the morning sightseeing in Aizuto Vilalge /Zunheboto, the land of the Sema Tribes. Semas are martial tribes and are known for their fighting skills and for the ceremonial war dresses. Overnight at Zunheboto.
Day 14: Aizuto Village/ Zunheboto – Wokha
Drive to Wokha the headquarter of the Lotha Nagas. A different culture, traditions, lifestyle, custom eating habits the main food of the Lotha is rice and bamboo shoots. The Lotha Nagas celebrate Tokhuemong on 7th November every year at Wokha town. A short visit to Kio or Longsa will be more interesting.
Day 15: Wokha – Tuophema en-route Tseminyu village
Drive to Tseminyu village a Rengma Naga village. It is oldest village of the Rengma. The WW 11 Japanese trans and some British iron which is use for bridge during their stays in Nagaland. The Rengma are also famous for their handloom. Drive to Tuophema. The local guide takes you for Sing in the village. Explain you how they celebrate sekrenyi festival, show you the lifestyle and customs.
Day 16: Tuophema – Kohima
Drive to Kohima 2 hrs, the state capital of Nagaland is situated at an altitude of 1444mts a beautiful town wide panorama views, we can visit to Kohima village (Bara Basti) with a large traditional gate decorated with horns of buffalo representing bravery and valor of Angami tribe, also visit 2nd world war cemetery, museum and local market. Overnight at Kohima .
Day 17: Kohima – Benreu
After B/fast drive to Benreu the Zeliang Naga village and the venue of Hornbill festival. The Zeliang Naga are well known for their rich custom and dances. Sightseeing in the village. Overnight at Benreu.
Day 18: Benreu – Kohima
Morning Attend Hornbill Festival and afternoon visit. Afternoon transfer to Kohima. Day free to explore the Kohima on your own.
Day 19: Kohima – Khonoma
After breakfast drive to Khonoma Village. This village that lays 20 kms of west of Kohima. Khonoma village was known for its fighting prowess in their past. It is also known for the fallow management of its alder trees, which balances nature in the surrounding areas. The beautiful terraces that are carved out of the hill slopes surrounding of the village are a sight to behold. These terraces grow over 20 types of paddy at different elevations. Post lunch visit to museum later visit Angami.
Day 20: Khonoma – Dimapur airport – onward destination.
Early in the morning transfer to Dimapur Airport (55km/2hrs) for your onward journey.
